Its sunday here in NZ and very sunny, hot and beautiful.
Tsunami alerts not as bad as it could have been. Only had the ocean at a beach south of Christchurch receded dramatically, leaving fish stranded on the sand. And that is all so far. So I think its ok. I haven’t gone to the beach to check it out but I’m not that stupid!
Anyway I’m starting to cook my way through The Edmond’s cookery book (1998 version) as I’ve had that and several hundred cookbooks sitting around my house for ages unused.

This book is practically an institution here in NZ.
Most NZ homes have one or are about to get one. I’ve also seen versions for Kids, flatters, Microwave cooking.
The one above is what I’m cooking from.
page 149 flour tortillas today for lunch with melted cheese in them,(some left over for lunches)
Pg 34 Afghan slice (I altered it a little by putting in weetbix instead of cornflakes)
pg 22 Apple bread (actually replaced the apple with pears since we have heaps).
Now what to do for dinner tonight?
I’ll keep you posted on what I do from the cook book from now on.

This year seams to be a sewing, cooking type of blog, so far lol – with a bit of scrapbooking and cardmaking thrown in for good measure.
Hope you like the new twist!

Hi there, I wonder if I can trouble you to give me the chocolate cake recipe in the Edmond’s book? It about page 45. Just the ingredients will suffice. I’m currently overseas awaiting my book to arrive with my things on the boat – but need to make a cake now!!! Thanks for your help
I’ll email you.

Hi Debbie, could you possibly email me the list of ingredients for Ice Cream Pudding (p. 178)? I have the 1994 edition, but it’s worn and has been well used, and part of the list of ingredients for that recipe is missing. Thanks!
