Then its awesome when I get happy mail for Fiskars Design Team….

a 24″x36″ cutting mat and Micro tip no 5 scissors

and my hubby gave me these for my 12th wedding anniversary (or rather allowed me to buy them – lol)

some Christmas Clear stamps and a SEWeasy stitch piercer (it pierces holes in paper/cardstock so you can do hand stitching on cards/layouts etc)

and I had to show you my Fiskars scissor collection…..
I need the 12 that are pictured above…. one because I love all the COLOURS!!!! And they are all from FISKARS!!!

Two this is what I use all my scissors for….(working myself around the circle clockwize)

1. Kids orange and yellow flamed scissors – for my daughter for her projects (available from Wharehouse Stationery stores)
2. Soft touch scissors (black and grey) – with a spring in them for fine paper shape cutting etc (Wharehouse Stationery stores)
3. No.8 Fiskateer member scissors – for members of the Fiskateers only (join up… www.fiskateers.com)
4. Pinking shears (Orange handled scissors) – for fabric cutting only – cuts a zig zag in the fabric to stop fraying. (won from Fiskateers)
5. No.8 straight edge cutting scissors (pink with flowers on the blade – limited edition Hedi Grace design) – for Fabric cutting only.
6. No. 7 strip cutter (purple handle) – great for snipping fabric and just opening them up to “rip cut” strips of fabric.
7. Soft touch Scissors (pink/purple handle) with spring – great for cutting those loose threads on sewing projects and ribbon cutting. (won these online from Fiskateers) – Donna Dewberry design.
8. My new Micro tips No.5 – not sure how/what I’ll use them on maybe for small paper cutting. (spotlight)
9. Fiskars/Cristina Re – decorative scissors for paper cutting – boudiour design (the drawing room – Christchurch)
10. Green Micro Tip No.5  – These are for cutting my threads when I’ve been x-stitching.
11. Orange handled No. 8 – the ORGINAL Fiskars scissors. Well you know you really have to have one just incase you cannot find your No. 8 Fiskateer scissors when in the middle of a project. (Wharehouse stationery)
12. Lastly the little green kids scissors – to train those little cute children of ours the right way to use scissors safely. Great for 3-5yr olds. My son loves his Fiskars scissors. (Wharehouse stationery)

So that is my list and how I use everyone of my 12 babies!
let alone the other 5 fiskars scissors I have passed on and given away as random prizes.

Well yea… ok so I’m nuts and addicted and all that stuff but I’m not willing to give it up and go to AA. don’t think there is a 12 step program for my addiction!

Sewing Sunday – Christmas fabric napkins

Hi all
Getting ready for Christmas early this year. Last year I made fabric place mats and had some fabric left overs so I decided this year I would make the fabric napkins to go with them….

These are 12.5″ square. And fold well into what they call a pyramid shape well for the Christmas table.

I sewed the pieces together first then put a backing into it and quilted it so that the layers stay in place. They are luxury double sided. Lol better than a four star restaurant! Hehe

Hi all

I have a new blue little helper when it comes to my Scrapbooking….
meet Scrapbook Smurf – and of course he too is a fiskateer…. #352a
He stands 3.5″ high. little higher than all the other smurfs I’ve made so far but hey he loves what he does and is excited to be part of the family…. (shhhh I think his hat is the one that stands a little taller… don’t tell him though.) lol

Here is my lastest layout…

double 8×8 layout for my daughters “this is your life book ages 0 – 9″
Yet to do her birthday double page and 7-7.5yrs page and then I would have caught up on that project.

Gosh I really have alot of catching up scrapbooking to do too as Ethans book needs to be done too! eeek falling behind!

Little more involved in this card but it was a pleasure to make….

Embossed card base
Black cardstock, White panels sponged with colours, Black embossed tree branch
Black inked decoration stamps on patterned cardstock and then stuck on with dimensionals.
Add ribbon across the top and a “merry Christmas” panel.

My sewing list is deminishing…..

4. Make a fabric sewing machine cover – this post – done!

I started with this selection of fabric:



And ended up with this….



This is the back…. With hand hole for lifting…



I’m so happy I have a sewing machine cover that is not ripped and made of plastic/PVC!

I used extra thick interfacing for the two sides to stiffen it a little and I also lined it with the same pink fabric I used to make the bias binding with – yes I made some of my own bias binding. Lol

More Smurfyness

Hi all I am addicted to smurfs…. I have a game on my ipad….

That’s my Smurf village.

I have also made two more smurfs. My kiddies wanted a Smurfette and a Papa Smurf.

So here are all my smurfs as of now…..

So far so good. The plain smurf is mine.
Interesting fact…… 2 pack of smurfs here costs About $20 NZD and are about 2.5″ tall – I can make 4 polymer clay smurfs for about $24 NZD that are apron 3″ tall. I call that a bargain!

I think I’ll make myself a scrapbook smurf. Till then……

Thats one thing off my to do list this week. And an extra. Lol
