Hi there I’ve been cardmaking….
But just following instructions online I’m getting lazy… Or I’m just having a rest from doing instructions myself?

Kristina Werner has been an inspiration of mine for a very long time on you-tube and she is currently doing a Christmas card series… Think it’s 25 days of Christmas cards… So I have done some of those lessons today. 5 of them… I’m learning new techniques and finding out new ways of doing things while actually doing the cards and not just watching…

So here are my cards and no my cards are not Christmas cards but everyday cards…

The colouring in of the bunny card was done with water soluble pencils not copics like she uses…. I don’t buy copics as I prefer pencils instead…. No drying up of ink in the pen because I haven’t used them for months that way. and pencils are cheaper too.

Personal CHA challenge – stamped patterned paper tutorial

Hi all, today is hand stamped patterned paper.
You know how I said to find your stamps and blank paper a while back? Well this is the tutorial you have been waiting for.

This has been inspired by: “heaven sent” by Graphic 45

Here is my version:

Here is how I did it:

Grab 4 stamp pads. I used… Stampin up pads – old olive, tempting turquiose, daffodil deight, regal rose.
One sheet of light tan plain cardstock, two different sizes of butterfly stamps, one small swirl stamp.

Ink with green ink pad and stamp the small swirl stamp onto spare cardstock and then onto your tan cardstock. This makes a light empression of the swirl stamp for the base pattern of your cardstock.

Stamp your stamp all over the tan sheet and make sure some stamps are off the edge. Go on be adventurous!

Keeping the green ink pad open, stamp the small butterfly over the sheet loosely.

Build your patterned paper with the larger butterfly and the green stamp pad.
Clean your stamps to stop cross contamination of colours.

Build your paper with the yellow ink pad and the two sizes of the butterfly stamps.
Clean your stamps to stop cross contamination of colours.

Keep building with the pink ink pad and butterflies.
Clean your stamps to stop cross contamination of colours.

Finish off with blue.
Clean your stamps.

Awesome! Your own butterfly cardstock! Yipeeee!!!

Making a Bonsai with Creative Paperclay ®

Hi all
I have always loved the look of Bonsai but never have got around to buying myself one or even taking classes on how to make one myself.

But I have finally got around to making myself a sculptured one out of Creative Paperclay® and filmed myself doing it for you as well.

I hope you get some inspiration from it.

hmmm what shall I show you?

TIP: to get the checkered look. Stamp your image then put over top some DIY shop plasterers mesh. Then use a stamp pad direct on top all over your plasterers mesh Then remove the mesh. It works like the perfect mask.

coloured popcorn.. My first time trying it out. Not too bad but will do more colour next time.
TIP: to colour popcorn. Get plain popping corn and pop like usual in a pot. (heat 2 Table spoons of oil and then add 1/3 cup of popcorn) Once popped put into a container. Then put back into the pot 20grams of butter and a cap full of your fave colour of (liquid food colouring). Swirl around to cover popcorn. put into another container and repeat with as many colours as you wish. Add more colour if needed then when finished sprinkle over some icing sugar (powdered sugar).

Ok here I am again posting the scrapping stuff on the To do list day instead of the scrapping day – well you see its on my to do bookmarked list at present so you’ll just have to put up with it.

#24 – 12×12 Layout – this is a scrap lift of the wonderful work of Fiskateer Amanda #1485

I have used several stamp sets and gold embossing powder to make the gold swirly patters.
Prima flowers
3D butterflies and paisley stickers are from Rose’s studio
Bling is from Craft
vegie tag is from a pack of fruit from the supermarket

I also hand wrote the title.

I put a small bottle of bubble bath inside (future pressy for friends)
Cardstock is from Cloud9 (when they were under Fiskars Umbrella) so its old.

Scrapbook Sat – greeting cards and goodies

I received a package in the mail on Monday – from Fiskars. It was certainly a surprise as I wasn’t expecting anything from them at all. The only requirement was that when I did a project/s with them I was to post on the Fiskars Craft blog….. gee I don’t mind that!

I was so excited to receive them that I used the right away and sent the email back off to Lyn at Fiskars craft blog for them to post up the results. See the original post here.

If you don’t like going from blog to blog – or just want to look at the cards…. here they are:

above I used the Heart corner punch – well in the corners. then pulled sideways on the white finger tabs and took out the paper guide then used the punch to punch out a double boarder for the bottom of the picture. And also punched out the decorative ends of the banner at the bottom. Oh just in case you need it. The font for the Alice in wonderland quote I used is available here. I used the top one.

With the left over confetti I used it on this card:

I also finally used my new white embossing powder from Stampin’ Up. sometimes it takes me a while to use new stuff at present. Leaf stamp used is from Rose’s Studio.

Then there is the balloon punch…. My hubby mentioned it looked like a bomb so I went with it….

I also used the may flower squeeze punch from Fiskars as the bomb sparkle.

And because of my recent upset with my iPod I decided to buy another Fiskars tool:
(retail therapy is good you see)

$20 at Warehouse stationery. (also part of my $20 a week spending money I’ve decided to allocate to myself) So not breaking the bank.
I’ve been waiting for the Fiskars 1/4″ circle punch for about 1.5 yrs! I kept asking but retailers here kept saying they never heard of Fiskars bringing out one. So I’ve been waiting patently and buying $7 ones from the cheap shops and breaking them one by one. as they really don’t go through chipboard. Fiskars are so much more superior sometimes! I have used my 1/8″ punch in the same design for a lot of things and it is awesome. This one is so going to be used well.

And I received from Trina (a good friend and my Stampin’ up rep.) a wonderful birthday pressie:

a hand made box of chocolates and a trade aid wooden block stamp! Awesome!
Its about 5″ square! Large enough for great card backgrounds.

I also received in the post on Wednesday, from the ladies at Scrapbook Heaven, my prize I won when I did the Maya Road chipboard album class a couple of weeks back. This is what I got….

Its in the shape of a cupcake (sorry the photo isn’t that clear).
And inside are a few chipboard shapes as well.

Now to think up what to use it for…..

I keep adding to this post during the week and it seams that it IS my week!
