I had to have a go at the Ruby Rock-it May Challenge

The challenge was to use their paper twine and the Nostalgia line… this is my layout…

I used Ruby Rock-it Nostalgia:
Nevermore (text cardstock)
Reverse side of Quilt
Reverse side of Collage
Cardstock stickers, boarder sticker, Imprints, diecut chipboard pieces
Paper twine from both Nostalgia and Vintedge lines

Two announcements!!!

The New design team positions are now announced over at Creative Paperclay!

And YES!!! I am in for a second Term!!! very exciting and have a few projects in either the thought process or part the way through all ready. So the enthusiasm has not waned at all. Just love this clay!

My posts for the blog this term are on the 1st Thursday and 3rd Thursday of each month….(US time) Yes that is 2 posts per month now instead of one! Cool aye! One will be a step by step lesson other will be a tip.

Revamping my craft space

Hi all remember my craft space?

Well I have revamped it a bit because the place has now been fixed up from earthquake damages.
I started with my skinny shelves…… On the very top are some small plastic draws with beads, scissors (out of kids reach), blades, polymer clay.

My Stampin Up! Ink pads……
I cut down two corrugated cardboard boxes we used for storing stuff in when we had to temporarily shift out…. Cut slots in them measuring the ink pads carefully…. And ended up with this…

As you see a purchase for more of these will be soon.

Next shelf down… Re-inkers, stamps, acrylic blocks. Etc
I used a small cardboard box inside another one (snack bar/cracker boxes) for the acrylic block storage – to extend the use of space.

Next down…
Little mini “mag holders” for my made up greeting cards.

Next down…
My magazines and A4 sized albums. Magazine holder is a cereal box.

Next….
Glues, varnishes, half done mini albums and paint palette…

Again I have recycled small boxes from kids snack bars etc

Next…. And last…
Flowersoft, paint pots, Mold putty etc
Under the box which also makes a shelf for the above flowersoft etc is my small sizzlet dies.

The rest of my space is my desk that folds up into a cabinet…..
Has all the stuff I use almost every time I craft in it. And the plastic draws beside it has my card stock, Fiskars punches, cuttle bug dies, cutting mats/foam mats etc

In the 2 draws in the desk is my x-stitch and Fiskars templates, heat gun, hot glue gun etc.
Top of my desk holds my clear stamps in a letter holder and an old box behind that.

Then behind where I sit is…
Two plastic draws which hold fabric, stamps and embellishments…. On top are ribbons and other arty/crafty stuff.

And my newest addition… My pin board- gone the red squares and in comes my display pin board! Yippee!!

So there you go, that is my space that I have made new! Now to get down to some serious crafting!

Being more arty than crafty

I decided to get out my sketch book and do some doodling…. Or rather Zentangle….

Done with 0.6 artline marker and Bic black pen.

And decided to do some cartooning after watching a FaberCastell DVD that came in some pencils- it was with cartoonist Oistein Kristiansen.

Done with a 0.6 artline marker, Bic black pen and water colour pencils by Mont marte (which I didn’t put with water).

Earthquake repairs update….
We are moving out this week and building repairs are going to start…. Well at least I don’t have to take our linen with us. Just our clothing. We are doing washing back here at home. And cooking in a small “kitchenette” at the motels and staying in a two bedroom unit. Yea I know “fun” aye!

Well better go. Got boxes to pack and furniture to shift.

Hi everyone.
The house we are renting will be getting fixed for 4-5 weeks. Earthquake repairs. Thats good. What’s not good is that I have to pack up all my craft goodies…… And shift out into temporary accommodation. This is when a new self challenge kicks in – crafting with very limited supplies.

Heres my half empty scrap spot…

Everything is in draws or boxes…..

Or bags….

I have some supplies/tools set aside to use in the Motel room where we (2 adults, 2 children)will be staying for 4-5weeks. If I am not driven to the nut house during that time I will endeavour to craft at a minimum during this time with this lot…. Which is basic supplies to for fill my DT commitments.

I am really hoping that I can still take part in The Odd Show extravaganza

Those that are in the US – I will be going live at 3pm Saturday…
which is about 7am NZ time on a Sunday – please make it worth me getting up at that hour in the morning and join me in learning to make hand stamped patterned papers and paper flowers.

Well got to go and pack some more…….
