Been awfully busy.
First I have been working on a knee high sculpture and I was intending on using it as a creative paperclay DTBlog post. But that idea went south when I found out it would take more than the supplies they sent me….. I need those blocks for other projects during my six month term too.
But the good news on that project is that the tutorial for that will appear here instead in a few weeks as it will now be paper mashe instead.
Other projects I am working on:
1. mock up and instructions for altered canvas board – Christmas scene with commercial massed produced Christmas cards. Class at Stepping stones trust.
2. Mock up and instructions for hand sewn felt gift bag. Class at Stepping stones trust.
3. Mock up and instructions for gift box – class for my church.
4. Mock up and instructions for clear sour cream container gift box – class for my church.
5. Large canvas project tutorial for jan post tutorial for creative clay DT blog.
6. A layout submission to a magazine.
So as you see Christmas activity is happening here all ready. Busy busy…. Well it wouldn’t feel like Christmas if this didn’t start happening now. Lol
Well without further delay here is the reindeer layout I promised in the title of this post……
I used the Fiskars trimmer to cut out nine 3″ square squares, then I corner punched two opposite corners of all them. Next I roughed up and inked the edges of the background paper. Then I placed my three photos, cut out with fiskars shape template, inked, attached with brads the journal spot. Then used letter stickers for the title and added rhinestones in attracted to each other so I can place my own swirls. Yes each Rhinestone was placed individually.
Hey, I bought my first scrapbook mag in two years…. The Internet has been my first source of inspiration for a long time. I only bought the mag so I could get the free vintage paper pack.
The papers turned out to be printed on mat good quality paper. Kudos to them! At last a mag that knows it readers…. And it’s jamb packed with technique and tips! Readers submissions encouraged. Adds are all together in the back with a featured article add that is more of an article than an add. And there are a good amount of tutorials as well. Oh and not to mention papers come free with every issue!
Now I know most of my lovely readers are over sea’s and this mag is Australian. But good news to those in other countries they are able to be ordered from the Internet. The web site is… www.scrapbookidesmag.com.au oh and watch out they also bring out a card/stamping mag and a papercraft mag. I’m sooo hooked and I discovered this in my supermarket!
Well ok, yes, I am thrilled with this mag and I was not bribed or paid for this mini advert but I just had to tell you. Oh the mag is new…. I got issue 9!
Better go. I have a part time job too so I must do that. Lol
Have a crafty time!
